Abstract

The pure powder of the yttrium-aluminum garnet (YAG) was obtained in a one step process utilizing supercritical (SCR) liquids in a flow reactor. Acetates (and acetyloacetates) of Yttrium3+ and Aluminum3+ in aqueous-alcoholic solutions as a starting materials were used. The obtaining product was characterized using XRD, SEM, TG, BET and helium picnometry. Manufactured in this way YAG has high regular microstructure and very low level of agglomeration. High-Pressure-Low-Temperature-Sintering of this powder was investigated.
