The synthesis, physical characterization and photoluminescence of
nanocrystalline ZrO[2]:Pr3+ powders are presented. The ZrO[2] powders
with crystallites size in range 5-12 nm were prepared by hydrothermal
technique. A high pressure microwave reactor was used to produce of
the system zirconia-preseodymium (Pr content 0.05-2%mol). The emission
spectra and luminescence decays were recorded. The size and
concentration of Pr3+-ions effects on the quenching of the 3P[0]
emission were studied.
