Abstract

The effect of twin boundaries on the normal and fluctuation conductivity of REBa2Cu3O7-δ (RE=Y, Ho) single crystals has been investigated. The temperature dependence of the excess conductivity can be satisfactory described by the Lawrence-Doniach theoretical model. The twin boundaries are efficient scattering centers of normal and fluctuation carriers. The predicted values of the coherence length perpendicular to the ab-plane ξc(0) are in good agreement with the values determined from the magnetic measurements of stoichiometric YBaCuO crystals.
