Internal Friction study of the melting of Pb inclusion in Al matrix, G.T.Fei, J.Weissmüller, G.Wilde and H.Rösner, Institute für Nanotechnologie, Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, 76021 Karlsruhe, Germany and J.B.Huang, P.Cui and J.P.Shui, Institute of Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, P.O.Box 1129, Hefei 230031, P.R.China Internal friction measurement was first used to study the melting property of Pb inclusion dispersed in Al matrix for serious AlPb samples. One internal friction peak located at about 330C was first observed. It is suggested that this peak is related to the Pb bar coarsen process. The onset temperature of this peak decrease with decreasing the size of Pb inclusion, which means that the nanoscale Pb inclusion also shows the melting point depression.
