Abstract

The paper presents the results of study of noise charachteristics of cadmium telluride bulk single crystals, both undoped and doped by As and Cl. The noise spectra were measured over a vide range of frequencies, from 1 Hz up to 100 kHz, at 300 and at 80 K. The noise power spectra are of 1/f\gamma , where γ = 0.9 in the whole frequency range.
At room themperature current noise (Si) is proportional to the square of the dark leakage current trough the sample. Both value and character of spectra depend on the conductivity type of the crystal and on the nature of doped dopand impurity. There are some peaks on the normal-ized curves Si(f)*f - f which are caused by the presence of local levels inside the bandgap of the crystals under investigation.
At zero biased sample current noise spectra correspond to the white noise spectra and agree well with the calculated results. Analysis of short noise were performed taking into con-sideration the presence of the macrodefects and clusters in the crystalline matrix. It is assumed that these types of inhomogeneities effect the current noise spectra too.
