Abstract

We report the results of the magnetic, electrical and thermal transport properties of

mixed-valence with A site cation disordered La0.35Pr0.15Ca0.16Sr0.34MnO3 (ionic radii

<rA> of 1.237 A0) manganites. The x-ray diffraction pattern of poly

crystalline La0.35Pr0.15Ca0.16Sr0.34MnO3 manganites infers the orthorhombic

structure. Detailed resistivity measurement shows the semiconducting like behavoir

throughout temperature range. The dc magnetization measurement reveal that sample

undergoes a phase transition from paramanetic to ferromagnetic phase at Tc ~ 275 K

and to an antiferromagnetic phase at TN ~ 155 K upon further cooling.

The specific heat measurement depict a broadened jump in the vicinity of Tc,

indicating the magnetic ordering and magnetic inhomogeneity in the sample.
