Crystalline carbyne, super-hard carbon nitride, 3D-polymerized fullerite - all these carbon materials were theoretically predicted or in a little amount experimentally observed during last decade. It is expected that these materials possess an unique physical properties. But nowadays the most part of predictions, concerning physical properties of these materials, are not experimentally verified because there is no enough substance for physical measurements.
One of the possible experimental technique for production of macroscopic amount of these materials is shock-wave processing of carbon-containing precursors by high dynamic pressures and temperatures.
In the present report, the following problems will be discussed:
- Possibility of high-pressure synthesis of super-hard carbon nitride.
- Shock-wave synthesis of crystalline carbyne.
- Shock-wave induced phase transitions and structural transformations in C60 fullerite.
