The effect of the promoters on the structural properties of nanocrystalline cobalt oxides

Zofia Lendzion-Bieluń ,  Walerian Arabczyk

Abstract

Nanocrystalline cobalt oxides and cobalt are important materials for recent technologies. These materials find applications in various fields of modern research. This include various types of sensors, catalysis, electrical, electrochromic etc.. Properties of these materials depend on their preparation.

In this work influence of the promoters as aluminium and manganese on the specific surface area and average crystallite’s size of the cobalt oxides was determined. It was determined how these parameters are changing after oxide phase reduction.

The influence of the aluminium content on CoO reduction was studied. The recrystalization process of the fine cobalt oxide Co3O4 and oxide promoted with aluminium has been studied.

In the study techniques as thermogravimetry, XRD with high-temperature cell HTK-16 and thermal desorption were used.
